There’s something magical about gathering a group of people who may not know each other, and yet are ready to share a journey. When I dreamed of creating WineSelf Coaching, I knew I wanted it to be more than just a wine tasting. I wanted it to become a space for self-discovery coaching an evening where flavors and aromas open the door to inner reflection.
And last week, at our very first WineSelf Coaching x Vinisfera Workshop in Zurich, this vision came to life.
A wonderful group came together just as diverse and international as the wines we shared. Different backgrounds, different life stories, different perspectives. And yet, there was one common thread: openness. Everyone arrived curious, willing to discover not only the world of wine, but also something new within themselves.
Through four carefully chosen wines and a surprise bottle we explored the theme Seasonal Renewal: A fresh start in the glass and in life. Just as summer lingers in the form of light, fruity notes, autumn quietly enters with denser, spicier characters. The wines became our companions in experiencing this transition, sip by sip.
But it wasn’t only about the tasting. It was about attention. Slowing down. Tuning into aromas, textures, and the subtle layers of flavor and noticing the inner reactions they awakened. As the glasses were poured, something shifted in the room: people began to open up. There was laughter, there were tears, and there were moments of silence that spoke louder than words.
I’ll never forget the feedback I heard that night:
“I’ve never heard anyone speak about wine with such passion and purpose.”
“I never realized that flavors and textures could help me understand my own inner patterns better.”
For me, as a self-discovery coach, this is the true sign of success: when participants feel safe enough to share openly, even with people they’ve just met. When the experience of wine becomes a mirror for self-reflection. When a group of strangers leaves the evening not only with new wine knowledge, but also with a sense of renewal and a deeper connection to themselves and each other.
This was just the beginning. I am deeply grateful for everyone who joined the first WineSelf Coaching workshop and I can’t wait for the next.
Come for the wine, stay for the insight.
